Cuba; odd, but interesting
I made a short trip to Cuba recently, a still somewhat odd but interesting country. Going through immigration turned out a lot easier than I anticipated. No questions asked, I was through in a few minutes. Then I had to put my hand luggage through a scanner. Yes, on arrival! Did they think I flew 10 hours with a bomb in my luggage that I planned to detonate at Havana airport? Maybe they were looking for smugglers, but after I got my checked-in luggage I could walk right through…
If you like vintage American cars, you’ll love Havana. Apparently there are some 10,000 of these vehicles left. I drove in a taxi that was two years older than I am (and I’m close to retirement).
